September 2009

This month has already had some crazy things in store for us, first of all Kenzi is 9 months old and on the move, she is crawling all over the place and her little personality is now HUMONGOUS, she is smiling giggling and enjoying life. Me and Jake also celebrated our 3 year anniversary on the 9th, time has gone by so fast but we are loving every minute of it. I also have found a new sitter for Kenzi thanks to a friend at work, she is in her ward and gave me her number and she will be able to help us out for a few months which I am so grateful she is awesome.

Primary Children's

Sorry I haven't written anything about kenzi up at Primaries yet, its been crazy adjusting. We went on July 9th for Kenzi to have her ureter tubes on her right kidney re implanted and was expecting her surgery to go about 2 hours, when three hours went by we got a phone call saying that everything was going good. So we waited and waited seeming like forever and finally 2 hours later the doctor came out and said that they actually worked on the left kidney also saying that the ureter tube on that side was smaller than a needle and the right kidney ureter tube was as big as a garden hose, we were so scared for kenzi she had so much work done not even knowing what was going on. I got to go back with her first and she looked so pale she slept for most of the night even when the nurses came in every hour to check her vital signs everything looked good except that she had lost alot of blood during surgery and they would keep an eye on it to see if Friday it had gone up.

So the next day her level went from 21 to 26 which they usually like to see it around 30-35 on babies so we thought Saturday she would be able to go home, vital signs still looking good. Saturday came and the doctors said that they wanted to keep her one more day and do a picc line in her arm to give her antibiotics through, I guess while she was in surgery they took a urine sample and she had a bug called phuedomosis (something like that) that she had acually been fighting for past month being on so many antibiotics having e coli from it, so they put the picc line in and should us how to do the antibiotic at home for 2 weeks. So Sunday came and they took her blood level again and it went down to 20 so they wanted to do a blood transfusion that night

everything went well and by Monday morning her level came up to 29.5 so we were able to come home. She is doing much better and we actually went up again to primaries to see her doctor last friday and she took one of the three stents she has in her ureter tubes and is looking good and Thursday she gets the picc line out from the home health care nurse and two weeks a ultrasound on her kidneys to see if all is successful, thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts we appreciate it. I will post again when we get the ultrasound results in two weeks.

Naturally Sweet

I can not believe that six months has gone by since our little sweet heart came into this world.

She has been so much fun she definitly has her daddy's personality she just had her six month check up and is doing very well, at 19.5 lbs and is 27.5 inches tall she is growing up so fast.

She is loving foods and can sit up all on her own, soon it will be time to lock proof the house if you catch my drift.

What a women wants.......................

Besides a husband who will clean the house, do the laundry and scrub the toilet (In our wildest dreams) Is the women's expo that is going to be on May 8th and 9th at the University of Utah. I am so excited to go see all the new stuff they have and this year I will be able to take Kenzi with me.

Blessed

Kenzi got blessed today in church. It was so nice Jake did a great job, both of our families were there to celebrate this special occasion in her life. She was very tired after it was all done. We had a luncheon also that was at a clubhouse here in Payson a lady at my work said her daughter uses it for her Lia Sophia parties and asked the owner if we could use it. It was very nice with a pool table and theatre room for the kids to watch a movie. It turned out to be a great day, we love our sweet baby Kenzi.

Blogging and not blogging

Hopefully someone out there can relate to having technical difficulties with blogging like me, I swear sometimes I do things about ten times before it looks right and delete and have to put back on things that I didn't want deleted in the first place....................aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

WARNING!!!!!Don't try this at home

NO RUNNING IN THE HOUSE-GOT IT!

How many times have we been told.... and have told our children....
Not to run in the house? Did we always listen? Do they listen?
Not always.

Sometimes our seemingly futile efforts fail, and "boo-boo's'
happen.
Here is a li tt le guy who didn't listen, and he got his own souvenir
scars.
Perhaps he'll learn from his mistake. Maybe.......

Doesn't Look too bad. But perhaps he should keep this next photo
handy to explain the way it happened!.... ...

OOOHHHHH!!!
That's Go tt a hurt!!!!
(Picture taken in the emergency room)

I got this on my email poor guy:(

2 months and counting

Kenzi is 2 months old today, we took her for her first mall experience today she slept the whole time, I couldn't believe it. She got a blue and purple dress for church at Jolene's. She is so much fun she is starting to smile at everything we love her so much and are very blessed. She goes in on Monday for her 2 month check-up, she is not going to like that. I'll keep everyone posted on her blessing and anything else exciting going on in her life.

Hip Hip Hurray

The other day when I went to go pick up kenzi from my mother in laws house she said that she had only had a 40 min nap the whole day and that night didn't go to bed until 9:00. She has had a hard time sleeping and has been fussy and gassy the last few weeks so I decided to take her to the pediatrician to see if everything was okay. He told me that at her age 2months she should only be waking up twice during the night not every two hours, he suggested to switch from similac advanced to similac sensitive and just one day of switching I can tell a world of difference in her sleeping and gassiness. She has been sleeping a lot better and has not been crying as much, this formula works wonders.

Kenzi and her many faces

I finally have time to do some blogging so what better than to stick our little Kenzi on, she has been our joy in life, she is 7 weeks old and growing like a weed. She is already 11.5 lbs, I wouldn't expect anything less after all she is up every 2 hours. She is starting to get a little personality and boy oh boy can she be stubborn at times its funny. We love her so much and are grateful to have her and keeping us in line.

December 7th, 2008 the day we will never forget...................I finally went into labor around 2:30 a.m. Jake was a little nervous but kept it together while me on the other hand was having contractions every 2 minutes so driving over to Timpanogoes was an adventure. We got to the hospital around three and I was dialated already to a 4 the epidural was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but unfortunately it stopped working about three hours later ( not the funniest time in a womens life) but everything worked out. My doctor was actually out of town and so I had a mid-wife deliever her, I was a little scared cause you think of mid-wife and natural birth at home delievery, just different I guess well I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this mid-wife I had, she was so awesome (Heather Johnson) at Aspen's Women Center in Provo. So now that we have our little girl here all is well, the lack of sleep is starting to take full effect but its just part of being a new mother and father. I want to thank everyone that has helped us out, our parents and friends and my loving husband .....................Love ya
