Primary Children's

Sorry I haven't written anything about kenzi up at Primaries yet, its been crazy adjusting. We went on July 9th for Kenzi to have her ureter tubes on her right kidney re implanted and was expecting her surgery to go about 2 hours, when three hours went by we got a phone call saying that everything was going good. So we waited and waited seeming like forever and finally 2 hours later the doctor came out and said that they actually worked on the left kidney also saying that the ureter tube on that side was smaller than a needle and the right kidney ureter tube was as big as a garden hose, we were so scared for kenzi she had so much work done not even knowing what was going on. I got to go back with her first and she looked so pale she slept for most of the night even when the nurses came in every hour to check her vital signs everything looked good except that she had lost alot of blood during surgery and they would keep an eye on it to see if Friday it had gone up.

So the next day her level went from 21 to 26 which they usually like to see it around 30-35 on babies so we thought Saturday she would be able to go home, vital signs still looking good. Saturday came and the doctors said that they wanted to keep her one more day and do a picc line in her arm to give her antibiotics through, I guess while she was in surgery they took a urine sample and she had a bug called phuedomosis (something like that) that she had acually been fighting for past month being on so many antibiotics having e coli from it, so they put the picc line in and should us how to do the antibiotic at home for 2 weeks. So Sunday came and they took her blood level again and it went down to 20 so they wanted to do a blood transfusion that night

everything went well and by Monday morning her level came up to 29.5 so we were able to come home. She is doing much better and we actually went up again to primaries to see her doctor last friday and she took one of the three stents she has in her ureter tubes and is looking good and Thursday she gets the picc line out from the home health care nurse and two weeks a ultrasound on her kidneys to see if all is successful, thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts we appreciate it. I will post again when we get the ultrasound results in two weeks.
